DIEGETIC: This is what happens in the story so all of the people on set can actually hear this noise happening, Its a noise that is played on screen such as car horns, traffic, gun shots or people dancing to music. NON-DIEGETIC This is a noise that is not heard on set, this is used to enhance mood and feelings for the atmosphere that the sound will be placed on an example of this is background music or voiceovers.
